Yet another pathetic chapter in Jets history

Classic. In a word......CLASSIC. That's what the Jets did on Sunday against the Patriots. In the long pathetic history of the New York Jets, this was just another classic chapter in their long history of utter failure. Everything was setup. Everything was perfect. The sun was shining, it was Brett Favre's first home game as a Jet, the hated Patriots and Bill "The Cheater" Belichek were coming into town minus Tom Brady, the Jets were undefeated and actually favored over a team who went undefeated in the regular season last year, the offensive line was improved (or so they were told), the defense was improved (or so they were told), the papers and talk radio were calling it a "changing of the guard" and "make or break" game, all the pregame shows on TV were picking the Jets and pumping them up, fireman Ed was wasted and fired up, it was all setup, and then....................they s*** the bed (as always).

It was too easy to see this coming. I don't see how this comes as a surprise to anyone. Obviously the Jets have been a model for losing and frustration for the past 38 long years, but if there was a stat for losing monumental games when their fans are built up to finally think this is where they change everything, the Jets would be the all-time leader in that category. The boos are coming Mr. Favre....oh get ready for that. I don't even blame Jets fans for it either. How could you not boo this disgrace? The Jets will never win a Super Bowl, because the Super Bowl is the ultimate game to build up your fans to think "this is finally our year". Alot of teams always suck (Cardinals, Bungles, etc.), but it's a rare thing for a team to be able to year after year consistently lose big time heartbreaking games like this.

I heard this all Sunday morning in the parking lot of Giants stadium, "This is our year", "It's different this time" "Trust me, this is where it changes" and it NEVER does. People go to Cardinals games hoping to be pleasantly surprised, while people go to Jets games expecting the big turnaround. Delusions of grandeur Jets fans, that's all it is. Accept the fact that the Jets will always be terrible and always let you down in the biggest games, and you'll have a much better time getting black out drunk and vomiting in between cars after the game in the racetrack parking lot. It's never going to happen, because at the end of the day it's always the same thing....the Jets.
